If personal and professional development had a “cold plunge” or “cold shower” — it would be asking for raw, candid feedback.
Just like a cold shower, this is rarely something people are comfortable asking for.
But also — just like a cold shower — the benefits are massive and the time required is minimal.
Get used to asking questions like:
1. What do I do well?
2. Where can I improve?
3. If you were me, what would you do differently?
The feedback you get might sting for a few minutes — but after that, you’ll be well on your way to saving what might have been *years* of wasted effort.
Being in pain for 5 minutes to save a year of wasted effort is a > 1,000x investment.
It’s worth it.
